Our New Base in Futaleufú!

The new location of Chile Kayak Adventure’s riverside base in Patagonia

We are super excited to share our new riverside base in Futaleufú. At the end of the 2025/26 season, we finalized the purchase of a property located on the banks of the Río Azul. Our base is within floating distance of various sections of Class III, IV, and V whitewater on the Futaleufú and Azul rivers and surrounded by river and mountain views.

The property is about 8000 square meters or 2 acres and was a homestead for many of Futaleufú’s earliest settlers. We received the property after years of neglect and have been working to clean and restore the area. Our priorities include preserving the numerous fruit and nut trees and improving the river access.

The Base

We started building accommodation for our guests that reflects our ethos; enjoying the natural beauty and high quality paddling while experiencing modern but simple travel comforts. Our accommodation will consist of individual bedrooms for each guest, an open living and dining area with panoramic views, and a wrap-around deck to take in the surroundings and enjoy the Patagonia summer. However, it is the location that gets us excited the most; alongside a dream river, at the base of one of the area’s most iconic jagged peaks, Tres Monjas, in the tranquil and rural sector known as La Dificultad, and only 20 minutes away from the town of Futaleufú. The Río Azul also offers excellent fishing right in our backyard.

Follow along in the journey

We will continue to share our progress as we transform our new base on our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages. Our 2027 Pucón to Futaleufú road trip will be among our first groups to enjoy the new base. If you are interested in joining, there are still three spots left.
